If you are thinking of getting a pump 12 ga, you won't do better than an old used Model 31. However, the Model 31 is a much better shotgun and they couldn't come close to reproducing it with today's costs for anywhere near what it would cost to make. They needed to get the costs down to compete, so they did the usual things, figured out how to cut corners, eliminate hand gunsmithing and shave costs by making a cheaper version and they hit a home run with the 870. USED FIREARMS HAVE A 3 DAY NON-FIRE INSPECTION PERIOD. This weapon is a great piece for any collection. Open length is 39" and folds down to 28 1/2” sporting a stout 18” barrel with a beaded site. Factory extended tube allows 8+1 of 2 3/4" 12ga and also has a Factory “Remington” marked folding stock made for "Law Enforcement Only" that holds 4 shells at the ready. These 870 Police Wingmaster shotguns are hard to find, especially this configuration in this condition. This weapon has been well cared for and its condition will attest to that. I can provide more pics if you email There is no pitting, rust or erosion anywhere on this shotgun along with no chars in the wood, unscathed Bakelite pistol grip, and has retained its shiny bluing amazingly. I am the 3rd owner of this 41 year old Remington 870 Police Wingmaster and it is in Excellent condition. Mechanics: The action functions correctly as if was a brand new shotgun. Overall, IMO this shotgun rates in about Excellent condition. The markings are deep and all is in tact. The metal shows only light handling marks as can also be seen in the photos. Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about most of its shiny blue metal finish as seen in photos. The metal portion of the stock shows a few small light handling marks.īore Condition: The bore is bright. The wood forearm shows minimal handling marks and shines clear and bright. The overall length of the weapon with the stock folded is 28 1/2”.,and 39" fully extended. The LOP measures 14 1/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the recoil pad. The recoil pad keeps the stock metal from damaging the barrel and receiver when folded. It is locked in place unless the button is pushed in again and the stock is folded out. Once the button is pressed down the stock can be flipped up atop the receiver and barrel and the buttplate can be set flat against the top of the barrel. The folding metal buttstock has a hard plastic pistol grip with a checkered surface, a spring loaded buttplate with hard rubber pad and a metal release button on the top left of the grip. Stock Configuration & Condition: The forearm is classic ribbed hardwood in beautiful condition. Sights / Optics: Front beaded sight with no rear sight as from factory.
